The 13th edition of the India Premier league will be held from 19 September to 10 November and as usual, Disney + Hotstar will be streaming IPL matches live. But this time there’s a catch – the annual subscription of Disney + Hotstar VIP or premium will be required to stream the IPL matches live. So, if you have a monthly subscription then you may have to upgrade it to a yearly subscription to continue to watch live matches.

The Disney + Hotstar VIP is currently available at Rs 399 for a year and the premium tier carries a price of Rs 1499.

Additionally, in an attempt to provide a chance to enjoy sports at a reasonable price, the platform has collaborated with leading telecom companies in India – Jio and Airtel. Both partners will offer exciting prepaid recharge plans bundled with a 12-months subscription to Disney+ Hotstar VIP, adds the statement of the company.

Also, you can now cheer your favorite team with your friends and family while sitting at home, Disney + Hotstar has rolled out a social cricket-watching experience for this season, by giving viewers the opportunity to join a virtual community that will allow them to enjoy the matches with their friends, family and fellow cricket lovers.

In this upcoming feature, fans will be able to determine the mood by expressing themselves using “Hotshots” selfies or a new video feature “Duets” that lets fans create customized videos showcasing their rendition of famous shots. Like last year, fans will also be able to compete and see where they stand against their friends and family through social leaderboard.

“Our use of technology in presenting this immersive experience will not only set a global benchmark but also redefine the way we watch and enjoy sports in the coming years,” President of Star & Disney India said.

Meanwhile, exclusive content like The Mandolorian, has led Disney+ Hotstar, at its peak, reported more than 100 million daily active users and 300 million monthly active users last year. The next season of the Mandalorian is expected to be launched in October.
