If you’re waiting to buy a PS5, you might be in luck this week. It appears Sony is releasing PS5 restock on its online store sporadically, so as long you’re sharp, your chance to score the elusive console could be coming soon.
Sony launched the PlayStation 5 back in February in India and the console sold out the minute the first pre-orders went live and has not been restocked since then but now today the Sony Center website shows a banner that says that pre-orders for the Sony PlayStation 5 will start on May 17 at noon IST. The standard edition is priced at Rs 49,990 in India but there’s no information on when shipping is expected to begin.
The PS5 comes in two models – Standard edition and Digital Edition. The Standard edition is the only model Sony has made available to Indian customers for now, with no word on the latter’s availability.
The pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 have not been made live on other online channels like Flipkart, Amazon, and Reliance Digital. It is also important to note here that Sony Center is a third-party retail partner for Sony. Hence, the availability of the PS5 on Sony Center shouldn’t be considered as an official restock from Sony.
Earlier this week, Sony had expressed to the analysts that there will be huge supply issues with the PS5 console in India until next year. Based on that, we don’t expect the gaming console to be available for more than a few minutes or hours on the website, given it will only be limited stock. So make sure you are on time to grab your unit!
